Catch the viral video, while it's still up, of the yoga lady swinging a baby around like a rubber chicken all in the name of inner peace. HINT: The flying circus act really starts taking off at about the one minute mark.
Please excuse the brief post. We need to wash our brains out with our neti pots.
Yeah. When my baby was that size, I always felt bad when I was holding her and the Moro reflex would make her throw her arms out wide as if to catch herself. I can't actually imagine KEEPING her in that state while I flung her around.
I've tried twice to watch it and can't get past the middle. I find myself cringing too much. Best comment I've seen anyone make about it yet? "Just because you CAN do it, doesn't mean you SHOULD."
I'm not the least bit squeamish, but I couldn't finish watching it either.
I don't understand how, for example, when dangling or swinging the baby by one arm, the baby's own body weight doesn't dislocate the shoulder. Or how they avoid spraining the weak neck muscles. I understand cultural differences, but I'd really like to see some stats on injuries.
