Mother of Octuplets gets Publicist... Mamarazzi Pokes Itself In Collective Eye

septpups2-1w-1.jpg

33 year old Nadya Suleman, mother of 14, including the now infamous octuplets, has hired a top Los Angeles P.R. firm to stand in front of the hospital and tell the world that she, Suleman, is not the selfish ass we imagine, but rather a super gal with a sense of humor who is holding out for 2 million dollars from Oprah!

That's right folks... all those children are expensive and, as Suleman has no job, no spouse, and parents who are packing their bags at this very minute, ready to quit their gig as primary caregivers to the other 6 children, she's going to need whatever dollars she can gather (especially as it appears she spent her savings on IVF)...

We'll be honest... Suleman makes us stabby. We want to shake her until her now freakishly distended utereus falls to her feet, making it impossible for her to inflict any further reckless behavior on innocent children or innocent tax payers.

You?

This makes me want to puke.

Her publicity-stunt of a pregnancy is sickening. It is hard enough getting people to truly understand in-vitro and the heartbreak that goes along with infertility (believe me, I know firthand) but now she has to be the freaking poster child right now.

Ok, seriously this comment section doesn't like me...I'll try again.

ok, sorry for all the comments...it kept saying that it didn't post, so i'd try again! gah!

Alex - No worries... looks as though we still have a few bugs to sort out! And yes, we're feeling pukey too.

there is some fertility clinc somewhere that has 'splainin to do... couldn't there be some 'sons and daughters of sam' law so that the money she makes goes to offset the millions of dollars the care for those kids is costing?

Um.....I've decided that Suleman's behavior is the very essence of irresponsibility. She needs help. My husband and I do not know what it's like to suffer from infertility...however, we decided that, after a boy and a girl (one of each, thanks, no litters here), two children are more than we can handle (emotionally and financially, all things considered) and my husband had a vasectomy. We both work to make ends meet and will be hard pressed to put our kids through college as it is....

So, can I join in on the shaking, please? Because we would have liked to have another baby or two and if I'd known that I could have Oprah at my heels with pen and checkbook in hand, I would have kicked Hubby to the curb and put on my reeeeallly stretchy pants!

Stabby. It works. This woman is insane. And so is the doctor who infertiled her.

I should have said "fertilized." Whatever.

That doctor who impregnated her should have his license revoked. Where is his accountability too? And I'm sure the only thing that is preventing him from launching his own press junket is HIPPA. It is sickening.

I cannot even tell you how much this pisses me off. I don't just want to shake her, I want to smack her. Then, I want her babies to go to childless couples.

you know what really pisses me off? When they use IVF to get pregnant with octuplets and then refuse selective reduction. Guess what? If it's "God's will" that you have eight freaking children at once? Perhaps it just may have been God's will that you not get preggers in the first place. (I don't mean normal people who do IVF to have one or two much wanted babies ...I mean, the litters...)

This woman is disturbed on so many levels. And now we taxpayers, in some way, shape or form, will end up supporting those multitudes of children of hers. I, too, think the doctor should be held just as responsible. Unfortunately, in this day of reality show TV, they both will probably be given their own talk shows. Those poor children - fodder for a selfishly deranged mother.

I'm so glad that others feel this way! As soon as I heard she had 6 other children I thought there is no way she needed to undergo fertility treatment (and what responsible fertility clinic would use their resources on someone who already has 6 children!?!?!?). I too want a better home for those babies!!!!!!!! 2 million or 10 million for that matter will not make it better.

OMG do NOT get me started on this one. Everyone else has already said pretty much what I've thought about this SICK and extremely disturbed woman. The thing is... there will be some celebrity hound type media asshat who will pony up just to get her in front of a camera.

Did anyone else see the thing with her publicist on Larry King last night? I agree the woman is probably nutso but the answers to some of Larry's questions made total sense and actually sounded reasonable. I'm not defending her, and I would NEVER make those same choices, but maybe we ought to hear the woman out before believing all the media hype?

I've been trying to have a baby for almost 6 yrs. Both my husband and I work fulltime. I have a beautiful 10 yr old boy. (Who wants a brother or sister just as badly as we want more children.)

How utterly selfish- when we, as so many friends I've made during our journey- is all I can say or think.

Just saw Octomom on Dateline. They showed pictures of her at least 5 years old. When asked if she'd had her lips done, she said no. If she would lie about that, would she lie about other things? Bless those dear children and babies. I hope they have all that they need to survive--more than survive--I hope they thrive.

Okay, WHATEVER about what she did ! NOW WHAT. So she says she loves her children let her raise them, let her get the help from the public that she needs to do so. What is the alternative?? Ask yourself that, raised by the state. Which would be worse on the child. If the public donates and she has the means to have a nice house and the help she needs and is of course is monoteried by the child welfare services while she does so, what would be the harm in that. Its time to start thinking about the children and not the drama in what she did.
